Jim Baker, owner

Bay View Printing Co.

Our company started out in the letterpress business around the 1920’s. We still use some of the fonts and equipment from that era, though most of it has since been retired. Over the years — and by necessity — we supplemented our production with the use of offset equipment. When I bought the business from the previous owner, a condition of the sale was to continue the use of letterpress. I had no problem with that since my entire printing career was in letterpress (from hand compositor, Elrod operator, platen press operator, repro press operator, to linotype machinist/operator — including the Elektron and Comet with tape readers). We have produced many fine quality pieces for writers and artists that wanted their work to include the look, feel, and beauty of letterpress printing.
