Fine Arts Press University of Southern California

(This press closed in 1993.) The USC Fine Arts Press includes over two dozen presses (cylinder and platen) and over 1300 cases of metal type including many rare domestic and foreign foundry typefaces. The Press facility is open for individual and group tours.

Established in 1986, its three functions are: 1. To serve as a major repository for historic metal printing type, matrice collections and related printing equipment and tools. 2. To provide university-level education in the printing, typographic, and book arts. 3. To produce limited edition books and other publications for the USC Library.

Four curriculum approved credit courses are offered. The introductory course is Fine Printing, Typography, and Book Arts. Advanced work and directed research are also available
