Mills College Center for the Book

The Center for the Book at Mills offers classes in the book arts, including a class on Printing and Graphic Communications. The course concentrates on typesetting and printing, emphasizing the relationship of literature to its visual form through the use of type, color, and illustration in various two dimensional formats. The Center is committed to developing and supporting programs celebrating the rich cultural literacy and aesthetic heritage of the book by offering a wide variety of activities throughout the year. Activities include public lectures by distinguished visiting scholars and artists, workshops, book fairs, symposia dealing with such topics as literacy and censorship, and public readings by authors and poets.
