Heavenly Monkey

History of printing and collaborations with artists from outside the book arts community describe most of the 25 titles published during our first eight years of operation. Books are printed from hand-set type with a Washington handpress (recently joined by an Albion folio foolscap), usually on custom HM Text handmade paper (damp). Most binding is done at the studio (with a preference for the traditional limp vellum structure); collaborations with master binders for deluxe copies are common.
