Is it a No-No to mix oil and rubber based inks?

I bought oil-based but want to switch to rubber. As I am slowly transitioning can I mix oil colors with rubber colors?

Also, I was adding Base Extender to ink over the weekend and when I printed in left little oily beads on the paper. Did I use too much? Is Base Extender the same thing as transparent white?

I have added a touch oil based opaque white to rubber based colors (I was in a pinch and I don’t have any white that is rubber based). I did not mix up a bunch or anything just added a teeny tiny bit to lighten a color.

I mix them all the time and it works for me.

Doesn’t anyone understand ink compostion and use? What next? Food coloring for that oh-so-special tint?
