Introduction to Bookbinding, Saranac Lake, NY

Learn to make three simple but elegant sewn book structures – a pamphlet stitch binding, a single section hard cover binding, and a paper cover multi-section binding. This workshop will provide an introduction to the tools, methods, and materials of bookbinding. Emphasis will be on folding and sewing techniques and working in harmony with the properties of various materials. These techniques may be especially useful to printers of chapbooks or other short volumes. Workshop held at Bluseed Studios, Saranac Lake, NY, September 27, 9:30am to 4pm.
