Introduction to Letterpress class in Raleigh, NC

I have 3 spots available in an introductory letterpress printing class on the weekend of August 23-24, at Officina Briani, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

We will meet from 9:30-4:30 each day. Cost is $150 for the weekend.

I’ll cover the basics of setting metal type, makeready, and printing, using a Hohner tabletop platen press (9x12), possibly my powered Gietz 12x18 platen press, and my 1850s Albion hand press.

I’ll also cover the use of photopolymer plates (Boxcar adhesive-backed version). Time permitting, we’ll play with the wood type.

Maximum of 6 students, so everyone gets enough time/attention.

You will leave with knowledge, more confidence, handouts, resource list, bibliography, and more.
