Ohio Village

(We have received notice that this exhibit is no longer in operation.) The Ohio Historical Society opened the Ohio Village in 1974 to provide an entertaining means of learning about life in 19th century Ohio. The reconstructed village represents a typical county seat of the 1860s. A rural community set on 15 acres of pasture land, the village includes sixteen buildings with 22 craft shops, residences, and offices, in which costumed interpreters share their knowledge of life in Ohio during the Civil War. The village includes a print shop among many other historical buildings.
