Farmers’ Museum, Inc.

The print shop within the Village Crossroads of The Farmers’ Museum interprets the printing jobs typical to rural upstate presses during the period from the 1840’s through the 1880’s. Presses include a Washington press c. 1847 and a Liberty press, c. 1865. Long-time museum printer Homer Martin teaches printing classes and interprets the exhibit for visitors. School groups, on a limited basis, participate in workshops from November through April. The shop produces limited edition publications and broadsides advertising museum events. Long-time museum printer Homer Martin conducts courses in hand typesetting and printing on traditional presses. Hours: 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Tuesday through Sunday, April, November, December; 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. daily , May through October.
