Museum Plantin-Moretus

The Museum Plantin-Moretus collection includes the two oldest printing presses in the world, originating from the time of Jan I Moretus (1543 - 1610). The collection also includes complete sets of dies and matrices, a library, and the full archive of the Plantin company.
The actual workshops of the old printing business are one of the highlights. One can put on the work clothes of a 17th-century printer’s assistant, set type and operate the 17th- and 18th-century printing presses just as printers did two or three centuries ago. In the foundry one can cut dies, print a matrix, and die cast a letter with it.
