printing letterpress on origami paper

Any thoughts? I’m having a difficult time getting an impression with my Kelsey (I’ve heard of its limits, but it’s worth a try). Someone suggested using origami paper due to it’s super-soft quality. Any thoughts would be well appreciated.

If your Kelsey is set-up right, you should not have to use super-soft paper to get a good impression. I routinely print postcards on 110lb vellum bristol (which is as hard as all get out) with a 3x5. Kelseys are not nearly as limited as some folks here would lead you to believe. If your rollers/trucks are set right, your impression is adjusted correctly, your type is type-high, and your packing is right, then you should be able to print some beautiful work.

Origami paper, by the way, is not normally a soft paper. It is traditionally a rather crisp paper that takes nice, sharp folds. It not seem to me to be a paper I’d choose for impression problems.
