Vandercook proof press

I have a Vandercook Universal I proof press that I am
going to sell.
My problem is that I have no idea what it is worth.
I have been told anywhere from $1,500 to $2,500.
Is there a basic maket value on one of these?

thanks

You might want to spell it “Vandercook” instead of “Vandercock”; the right person should pay in the range you quoted.

Yep… depending on condition - post a picture - If it’s in poor condition it may be a load of old Vandercock!

Hi Pat - It would be great if you could post a picture as well as describe the general condition of the press.

Where are you located?

Universal I Vandercooks sell for up to $6000, depending on condition. Pictures and serial number are a help.

I have had a lot of interest already in the press. As soon as I can get a few pictures, I plan to list it. With all the interest, I think an auction type sale will work the best. Sale to the highest bidder. FYI: I recently sold all my hot type stuff to Wichita State University, in Kansas. They are starting up a program to teach letterpress printing for their graphics design program. It’s great to see the old stuff being put to good use. The scrap yards have seen way to much good equipment of late!

Any printing equipment for sale?
