Ink question re: PMS extender tint base
A while back I acquired a large lot of offset ink from a shop going out of business. Mixed in with the ink was several unopened cans of “O/S PMS Extender Tintbase” - can anyone tell me what this was used for? Is it similar to a transparent white? Anybody in Boston want some? I have about a dozen cans.
Thanks!
Hello,
This was (is) used to change the color of paper mostly on narrow web presses. This is the base component and one would mix in a pms color. This was a popoular procedure in direct mail shops on didde presses in which they had warehouses of white rolls and a customer wanted yellow for example.
Hope this is helpful, -Clay
