Wesley W. Bates is an illustrator and printmaker speicalizing in Wood Engraving. He has worked for trade publishers such as Peguine, McClelland & Stewart, David R Godine, Gaspereau Press, The Porcupines Quill and HarperCollins. Bates has also worked with private letterpress publishers such as Bird & Bull Press, Barbarian Press, Larkspur Press and Press on Scroll Road. Bates is known for his wood engraved prints and has exhibited in Canada and the U.S.A. The presses he uses are a Washington Press ca 1880 and a 15MP Challenge Proof Press.
