Need list of letterpress centers & workshops in Puerto Rico

Hello to all:
I have a small invitation business and have recently discovered the beauty of letterpress. After extensive research via internet, there doesn’t seem to be any centers on the Island for me to learn this technique. I am eager to have a hand’s-on experience thru courses and workshops to see how I can incorporate this technique in my business. I found two (2) invitation business on the Island, that sell letterpress invitations, but they are resourced out to CA. So, I guess invitation-wise, no one really works this technique in my area. I am willing to fly into the US to take workshops, but they would have to be no longer than one or two weeks. If anybody has any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you!

There is an educational research facility (art institute?) in Puerto Rico that bought some Bunting bases from me years ago, and an institutional library that collects finely printed books (bought books from me many years ago).

My records are archived (and immediately inaccessible) or I’d be able to help you further, sorry.

Maybe look a bit further at home?

Ok. I think I found one called “La Casa del Libro” (The Book House). It’s a museum of finely printed books in Old San Juan. I’m contacting them next week to see if they have any letterpress printers.
If you find any info that could help me out, I’d greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Liza

Hi Liza

Yes, that sounds like the one. I did a bit of searching around for the art institute (or whatever it is) that ordered the bases, but can’t seem to find anything at this point.

Hi again

Base purchaser was the School of Plastic Arts. No wonder I could not find it. Over a decade ago though.
