On offer: Kelsey 5” x 8” Model U and complete letterpress starter’s kit for $1295. The press has been completely reconditioned (media-blasted to the bare cast iron, primed and painted—then trimmed in period flourished/dressed by a professional artist), oiled and adjusted, has brand new rollers and has no breaks or welds. Included with the press is a starter’s kit that includes everything the beginning, earnest printer needs to kick-start their shop. Included in the kit are the following:

-One (1) composing stick
-One set of quoins—(3) Wickersham quoins and key for the quoins which are ideal for this chase size.
-One (1) stainless steel, new, 42 pica Gaebel line gauge
-Three (3) new heavy duty McGill gauge pins
-One (1) planer block (to ensure even height of type in form)
-A generous assortment of furniture and reglet
-A complete array of spacing and leading…21 to 30 pica (can be changed to satisfy buyer’s needs)
-One complete pantone ink starter’s kit which includes: One can of cyan, magenta, yellow, black and two cans of opaque mixing white. Other colors and pantones may be available upon request.
-One (1) brand new, heavy duty denim printer’s apron with pockets for the line gauge and tools
-Goose-neck plastic clean-up bottle to dispense solvent to clean press/rollers/type
-Printer’s tweezers for snagging small spacing, etc.
-Leading, spacing (em’s quad’s, coppers, etc.)—in an array to satisfy the needs of this press’ owner
-Other lagniappes (ornaments, dingbats, etc., for the lucky buyer!).

We don’t intend to mislead anyone, so we have tried to show the range of accessories included with the package though actual volume may be more. Slight variances in leading/slugs and furniture/reglet may exist—but be assured, an array of both that is totally appropriate and complete for use with this press will be included.If you find you need more of either, they are free (within reason) if you cover shipping. Please specify if you feel you need to change any of the variable contents of the above (ink/spacing/leading/slugs/additional ink).
