Monotype System Book

I have recently downloaded the Monotype System Book of 1912 from the Internet Archive. Unfortunately when the book was scanned they ommitted sveral plates and tables. Does anyone have the missing fold outs and plates for this book? As I am trying to get my head around the whole Monotype unit system I would greatly appreciate copies of the missing matter.
Many thanks.

I’m not sure if this one has any of the pages you were missing… frequently the Internet Archive copies are scanned by google, but I wasn’t sure.

Thanks Megan,
I suspect its the same source, as the blurb at Google talks about missing and blurred pages. It seems someone is selling what is available for free at Internet Archive.

I’ve scanned the plates and put versions online. The links to them and a discussion of their sources are at:

It turns out that there’s even more to the 1912 edition. I just acquired a copy of it which is (alas) incomplete - but which has material not in either the Google Books edition or my previous scan.

There is a Plate VII at the very end. It’s a long, multi-fold foldout, and it attaches via an entirely blank page, so it’s not surprising that it was lost on the edition I scanned and not detectable in either it or the Google Books edition.

There are also several text fold-out sheets which are neither numbered as pages nor as plates (one of them, un-numbered between pages 232 and 233, actually is the first page of a new chapter!)

In any case, I’ve scanned these, too (and the two Frontispieces, which are nice) and added them to the temporary page at:

Once again, many thanks David. The scans are excellent and they are loaded with essential info.

Hi Carl,
did you get my reply to your email?
I would be interested in hearing if you have other Monotype manuals as well as this one.
