Nylo and Mag plates
Hello,
I was wondering if someone may be able to help me. I recently acquired an Adana 8 x 5 press and I’ve used it with lead type and old blocks and that worked fine. I ordered a Nylo plate to find that it was too thin and not type high. I tried sticking to an old photo frame to get it to the right height but after many attempts it just didn’t work.
Does anyone know of an easier way to do this - should I have ordered the Nylo plate type high or do you need to make it type high your self?

I buy mag plates 1/4” thick and have them shipped unmounted, then i mount them with double sided tape on my furniture with 2 pieces of chipboard under the furniture. If the plate is thinner i sometimes use my slugs with a 6 pt. slug taped flat on top of them, then stick the plate to that and its close to type high. Don’t know what a nylo plate is but type high is .918, that is where you need to be. Good Luck Dick G.
