Scoring on a Windmill

Any suggestions or tips on how to score on a windmill? I recall a recent thread showing a gripper bar deformed from getting caught up in scoring matrix. Is it best to do this on another press?

I think that broken gripper was caused by the die jacket not being seated not by the scoring matrix. I score all the time on my windmills no problem. Dick G.

What’s the setup for it? Do you need the die jacket still? I’ve never done this before.

If you want a quick fix to keep the gripper from lifting the matrix , just sellotape over it ,you can run thousands before the tape starts to break up .
