Mystery Font - Help Please. It’s a hard one..

Anyone know what this font is? I have it in two sizes - likely 36 pt and 24 pt. (.jpeg is attached).
I checked identifont online, and looked at the 1923 and 1953 ATF catalogues (only ones I had) and couldn’t find it. It’s got a strange combination of almost-serif’s, vertical stresses on the thick/thin, and left-leaning double-case a. slanted bar on the e. It reminds me of a turn of the century font Bulfinch - but the Cap’s are all wrong. Maybe a Grotesk? ANY help or ideas are much appreciated. This one is really bothering me.. Thanks!! VKHowald

This is BB&S Merit…also previously named Trenton by BB&S …Foolproof Rick already helped me identify this face…I’m looking for the previous thread now…

Thanks so much!!

You’re welcome!
I simply labeled my case “24 BB&S Trenton-Merit”, because of the dual names. It was first called Trenton.

Just curious, do you have any of the alternate “m” or “h” ?

Also I’m guessing that your sample is 36 pt. because it looks a bit thinner in appearance than my 24 pt…maybe a light impression in addition there…I dunno.
