Letterpress Central in Chandler Arizona is now offering classes! We took some time off from teaching LP at The Paper Studio to move into a fabulous space. Here are some upcoming classes.
All Occasion Cards - April 28
Letterpress cards are so fabulous especially when they are made by you! We are setting up our hand operated presses so you can print an assortment of cards; birthday, thanks and congratulations to have on hand when you need them! This is a nice exposure to letterpress if you have ever wondered about taking a letterpress class. Students will print a set of 10 cards.2 session times available.
Letterpress Basics - May 5
In this day-long introductory workshop, you will be introduced to platen press printing on our vintage hand presses. Come and learn the basics of setting metal type, locking up the chase and printing one color. An overview of letterpress terminology and the layout of California job case will be covered. Students will be printing personalized note cards. We have different typefaces to choose from as well as lots of ornaments and graphic cuts.
Mad about Mad Men - May 19
We love the whole retro vibe of Mad Men and to celebrate we are digging out vintage advertising cuts and cool design patterns so that you can print some hip coasters and a small pocket sized notebook on our hand operated presses. This is a nice exposure to letterpress if you have ever wondered about taking a letterpress class. Students will print a set of 8 coasters and a small pocket-sized notebook. 2 session times available.
