The Horseshoe Press was founded in 1959 in the UK when Peter Scott left Winchester College where he had learnt to use a hand platen, Model No. 4. He established the Horseshoe Press in Edenbridge, Kent. Subsequently it moved to Cambridge and then to Oxford. It is non-profit, and a follower of John Ryder’s principles.
