Printers’ Hall Museum Midwest Old Threshers

Printers’ Hall is a 4,000 sq. ft. operational letterpress printing exhibit taking shape at the Midwest Old Threshers grounds in Mt. Pleasant, IA. We are still in the developement and acquisition stage, but equipment that is already operational on site includes a c. 1900 Babcock cylinder press, Mentges folder, an 1870 Hoe hand press, a Heidelberg Windmill, several Linotypes, platten and proof presses, cutters, etc. We expect to have the Babcock powered by a steam engine this coming Fall (2007).

Pictures of where we were last Fall, five months after starting from scratch, can be viewed at www.oldthreshers.org and click on Printers’ Hall when you get to the home page.
