Moving, Cleaning, and assembly of ARAB PRESS

In a few weeks, I will be moving house and studio and will be moving my Arab Printing Press.

When I first purchased it, we disassembled in in 4-5 manageable chunks and pieced it back together in the new location.

With this move, I would like to take it apart and give it a good clean. I would also like someone who knows what they are doing to put it back together for me, making sure all pieces are correct.

Does anyone have any advice about cleaning (or to not clean it) and know of someone in the Yorkshire (England) area that could be of assistance?

The press is very well oiled and greased as the previous owner made sure of that, so not sure if it’s best to just leave it. One of the many things I need advice on…

Thanks in advance!

I found a lot of information here, including a PDF of the instructions to erect the press and all the parts of the press
http://britishletterpress.co.uk/presses/platen-presses/the-arab/
It can be done, as nearly all the parts are numbered and lettered, making it a lot easier. I took photos as well before and during the disassembly of the press.

Patrick Roe of The Logan Press Northampton, repairs and refurbishes these presses………someone -if you contact British Printing Society directly -may have an Arab……..

Thank you both! I do have those PDF instructions, but several of the parts look different to the press I own. I think my press is older than the instructions.

I have been in touch with Patrick and will be sending him an email…
