Letterpress Print Assistant Job Opening

If you are a graphic designer and have experience printing Letterpress - send your resume! DBYinvitations, a retail studio in Schaumburg, Illinois is looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and efficient new team member for the stationery design side of our firm. This qualified candidate will be primarily responsible for the client design, make ready, printing and plate management of our letterpress orders. In addition, there may be digital order printing, trimming and readying for assembly and production. There will also be assisting in the assembly of materials for clients; and a small portion of the position that will also function as a light office assistant; keeping client files & contracts and vendor files.

DBY is a retail studio environment with all the reprographics items of a larger printing firm, while maintaining a luxury boutique style. We specialize in custom designed materials for celebratory events – especially weddings. We have been growing our letterpress offerings, and are interested in someone to assist in managing that side of the business and grow into a Print and Press Manager.

DBY is highly motivated to find the perfect addition to the team, who will be a long-term growth oriented member and who is excited about both the social and -wedding events industry as well as the printing side of the business. Qualified candidate needs to possess excellent customer service skills and an ability to multitask.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: specifically overseeing printing projects (with methods including letterpress, digital and offset,) general assembly of paper materials, (cutting, gluing, constructing, etc.) and assisting designers in proofreading and organizing finished pieces. Additional opportunities over time include client interaction, contract sales, and personal design.

Qualifications: Print experience, specifically on a C&P 8x12 machine, basic knowledge of principles of design, exposure and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite as well as an understanding of the other various forms of printing. Retail experience a plus, but not required. DBY work week is Tuesday to Saturday with occasional evenings and Sundays if client contracts demand.

This open line is to be scheduled Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with the opportunity to both increase days as well as hours in the future.
