Stanhope press by Giradot now available. Large press dating from 1830-1840. Has its original cross and is in good general condition. We brought this press back from France recently in a swap deal for a Table Top Albion. Serious parties should email for further details and pictures.
The press is a large size (about 36 x 24). The press has its tympan and is largely in original condition. However on the left hand side there is a small hairline crack which has been repaired with two large bands over both sides of the staple. Obviously the crack was spotted early and the local blacksmith has effected an excellent repair. Probably over 100 years ago! The press has no date but has its original brass ball and brass makers plate. Buyer will have to arrange transport although I can transport to a port, crating would need to be sorted. Serious offers to be tendered to me.
