Letterpress Wedding Invitation Business

Hey all,
I’m using a throwaway because anytime a business is for sale there are sensitive issues surrounding confidentiality with the existing customer base, but I’m reaching out to this community because after a successful seven year run of my wholesale letterpress stationery company, I have decided to move forward to concentrate on different endeavors and remove myself from the letterpress market.

Before I go the traditional business broker route, I figured that someone here might either want to take over or know someone who wants to purchase the business. The company is a national brand which is located in over 20 retail stores nationwide (chains and solo shops) and it has a pretty solid footprint in the niche industry of letterpress wedding invitations.

In the last 2 years alone, the company has received national recognition as the top letterpress wedding invitation printer at some amazing industry events. My staff and I are veteran exhibitors at the major national trade shows and my company has been featured in countless magazines and numerous wedding blogs.

Someone looking to break into the letterpress stationery business could really bypass a lot of the early struggles of brand establishment and customer access by utilizing what I have already built over the last seven years.

What I am selling is essentially a turn-key business without the physical location. As a national wholesale letterpress company the location is easily transferable to anywhere as no customers visit the shop. My staff and I have spent years doing the legwork to create our market share and we feel that it’s time to turn it over to someone new! We simply don’t have the time to grow the business and foster the existing relationships but someone fresh could do fantastic with it.

What we have to offer:
1) Full transfer of the corporate name, company trademark info, and full corporate identity.
2) Complete access and ownership rights of all of the designs, artwork, fonts, etc. contained in our letterpress wedding collection. We have over 25 designs available.
3) Our press- which is a Chandler and Price 10x15 Old Style with foot treadle. We keep it well oiled and maintained and the rollers are less than a year old. You would be responsible for picking it up at our shop.
4) Our full printing setup, which uses magnesium plates,. Various Inks, furniture, etc. Basically everything needed to print.
5) Magnesium plates for ALL of our sample pieces and a selection of photopolymer plates for select pieces.
6) A small photopolymer plate maker. It’s a perfect machine for a small studio. It is a self contained exposure and washout unit.
7) Complete transfer of all ownership rights of our website, which includes a dealer locator tool, easy to use blog setup and most importantly, a very intuitive invitation designer tool for each dealer to use instead of submitting the orders for proofs. This is really the most fantastic thing that I have set up over the years.
8) Full access to both myself and the creative director of our company for the first six months of business to help ease the transition process. This is also invaluable, as we know both the industry and our vendors and we can guide you.
9) There are tons of other extras that I can’t even think of like pre-printed samples, pre-printed branded albums, etc.

As I said, if someone were looking to break into the letterpress stationery industry, this would be an ideal way to do it, as they would have an established selection of nationwide vendors, and an amazing book of ready to print designs.

Also, due to time constraints involved with other business ventures, my staff and I haven’t even begun to explore the other available markets, such as greeting cards, baby invitations, shower invitations, graduation invitations, personalized stationery and corporate branded stationery. This could be huge for someone who wanted to take a trusted existing brand and expand into different areas.

I do thank you for taking the time to read through this and let me know if you think anyone might be interested!
Send me a message here or at [email protected] if interested but I will require the signing of a non-disclosure agreement to give specific details of the company, and specific location of the equipment.

Thanks for reading and happy printing!
