Craftsmen 6x10 Manual/Oil Chart

Hello everyone,

I have just acquired my first press, a Craftsmen 6 x 10. I would like to get it off to a good start in it’s new home, but I’ve been having trouble finding a manual/oil chart for it. It is partially disassembled and I want to rebuild and oil it correctly .Could I use a C&P Pilot manual/oil chart (assuming that would be easier to find)?

Thanks for any advice!

You do not need an oiling chart.
Just remember that any place where two parts rub against one another, oil is required. The exception is the rails. No oil. Some places have oil holes; some do not.

Operate the handle and observe what moves. If it moves, oil it.

What Inky said, and this includes where two parts turn against one another.

More oil is better than less oil. You should oil enough so that the oil slowly runs out of the area you are oiling. One of the purposes of oil is to carry away contaminants and wear products, and it can’t do that if it doesn’t run out. You can wipe the excess oil away with a rag.

Thanks so much :)
