Can anyone tell me the location of the serial number on a Chandler and Price 26” paper cutter? I am almost certain from its physical characteristics that it falls within the type made between 1908 and 1934 but would like to learn the actual year. Thank you in advance.

I have a 26” C&P paper cutter and the serial number is on the right front part of the cutting table just ahead of the right frame upright. Mine reads “S1701” but I have no idea of its vintage.

Thank you, Jim. That was just what I needed; it was made in 1927. Just so I don’t look like a complete dolt for missing such large numbers, I should say that the cutter is disassembled, the table is in a difficut position to access, and it has some surface rust. But with a bit of sandpaper in the spot you mentioned the number appeared right away. Thanks again.
