Open Position: Press Operator
Company: Sideshow Press in Charleston, SC
Job Duties:
• Manage the overall success of the print shop and team by focusing on efficiency, quality and safety
• Coordinate press schedule in order to manage timelines, deliverables and deadlines associated with print jobs and
product assembly
• Ensure quality standards are met on all print jobs and product production
• Troubleshoot production issues that arise in an timely way while paying close attention to production quality and details
• Oversee sourcing and purchasing of all production materials, including paper, ink and specialty items
• Report to Sideshow Press team regarding press schedules, status reports and forecasting of all projects within the shop
• Maintain print shop equipment and resources by facilitating maintenance and repairs on all machinery
Experience:
• An individual with a solid understanding of the printing business, letterpress printing and product assembly
• Knowledgeable about the custom printing industry; wholesale or retail industry knowledge a plus
• Proficient in operating, maintaining and overseeing production on various print equipment
• Experienced in coordinating production jobs including material sourcing and execution
• Creative problem solver who efficiently troubleshoots issues without compromising quality
• Flexible and solution focused when facing shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
• Extremely detailed oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
• Genuine, positive, and uplifting attitude that inspires coworkers and clients
• Internally driven to make things better, think creatively to solve problems, and to exceed expectations
