Letterpress Decorative Paper

In this workshop both printing novices and those with some experience alike will use the Vandercook proof press to richly decorate blank sheets of paper. In the spirit of playful experimention, we’ll use SFCB’s collection of wood type and photopolymer plates, along with lino cuts and found objects (very flat ones only!) such as leaves, fabric, and string, to print multi-layered gift wrap, book covers, or artwork suitable for framing. Explore pressure printing, ghost printing, and serendipity. Each student takes home 10 sheets of their own creation, plus a sampling from the rest of the class.

*This workshop will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2020 fro 9:30am-5:30pm.
