U.S. Mail warning

Careful shipping U.S.P.S. they lost a package of mine. The contents were two (2) roller cores I sent out to California to have redone. Now I must find or make replacements. The press a Superior 6.5x10 chase with 1 & 5/16” trucks. Almost identical to the C&P pilot press. Would anyone happen to have an extra set for sale? Or perhaps the measurements of the cores?

The 2 Roller Companies we have in the Los Angeles Area have Info on File for ever core I had ever redone, ask and they should be able to supply.

You wouldn’t happen to have contact information for these two (2) LA Companies would you??

I just figured there were probably more then two (2) roller companies in the greater LA area. There is as actually more than half a dozen perhaps And figuring out which ones had all the demensions for all the cores, would be somewhat of a daunting task

USPS can loose things but over time they may still show up. Before you panic to much give it a little time. Some areas of the country are a lot worse than others. If the tracking shows where it last was it may help.

Most roller companies have a library of dimensions and are fairly easy about “can you make this?” questions.

Well hang onto receipts, and insure everything. I talked to a mail man neighbor and he says since there are no jet’s flying mail is not moving. So he says.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it did show up eventually. I recently had a package (international to boot) that was supposed to arrive in 14 days take a full 10 weeks. Then it magically appeared.

Combine a pandemic with a government administration hell-bent on knee-capping public services, and you are bound to see some delays. Hopefully you won’t have to pay $8 to mail a letter, and travel to the nearest town to collect it, by this time next year.

I’ll add that I’ve been getting tracking errors with both USPS and UPS recently. Patience required, and keep your receipts.
