This beautiful hand operated machine has been fully restored and is in perfect operating condition with recently sharpened 30 inch knife.
We have completed the provenance after working with Challenge Machinery in Michigan, who is the successor company of Shniedewend & Lee of Chicago.
Made on July 29,1892, this press has the restored gold lettering and Serial Number 1491.
It was found five years ago in a dilapidated barn in rural Georgia and freight shipped to California where is was cleaned, oiled and completely restored into the beautiful machine it was when it was first made.
Made of very heavy and indestructible cast iron.
