Type, Heidelberg, cutter, C&P, more

The Belle Plaine (MN) Herald ceased operations a couple of years ago. The Townsend family owned the paper for more than a century. The Herald building is full of everything they used to print it over the decades, and now the paper’s last owner is ready to empty it out. Some of the contents:

-Many cabinets of metal type
-Several cases of wood type
-Lots and lots of cuts and dingbats
-A 12x18 Chandler & Price Old Style, motorized, good rollers
-A Heidelberg Red Ball Windmill, good rollers
-A C&P paper cutter, 30-inch blade or thereabouts (can handle parent sheets)
-A Showcard Writer that needs some sweet lovin’, with two drawers underneath full of wood and metal type
-Perforater
-Treadle-operated stapler
-Tabletop perforator with original pinstriping
-tons of paper
-quite a few old typewriters!
-many many pounds of bound metal type for melting

And literally tons more stuff. The presses were running well when the paper closed.

Belle Plaine is about 40 minutes south of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, just off major highways. All the heaviest stuff, presses, cutter, etc. are at ground level near big doors. The type and cabinets are upstairs.

Owner Dan Townsend will consider all fair offers that ***do not involve him shipping***. Please TEXT Dan directly at 612-385-8833.
