Fully rebuilt Showcard model “711”, “A”, and “B Special” Sign / Proof Presses.Very heavy-duty small presses (made for Showcard by Vandercook) , These include bed grippers and a gridded bed plate.
Press is fully reconditioned, including bearings, new paint, type bars (not pictured) and bed plate. Roller is trued or recovered if needed and entire unit is adjusted for type-high. Beds are polished or reground. The rebuilt presses are as close to factory new and will print flawlessly.
Specifications from Showcard allow a print area of 15” x 23” on the ” B Special”, a print area of 12” x 16”” on the “A”, the print area of the 711 is slightly larger than 7” x 11”— can use the bars with grooved type or may be locked up within the outer frame using quoins and furniture — great for use with a small press chases…can be used as a galley proof press with bed plate removed. This is a very versatile press and bed plate can be packed underneath or rollers adjusted to vary the impression if needed.
I have had many clients ask about removing the typeholder system and replacing that with a heavier dead bar to gain some “inside” dimension to the press. I have started offering that option at no additional charge at the time of order, or can supply a heavier dead bar in addition for a reasonable price.
I do have the optional ink plates available as well as Showcard type racks, dust covers, etc.
I also have the bed and stand for a Showcard Long-Master press, including the foot pedal for the gripper bar (but does not include grippers, carriage or inking roller carriage) with a print area of 15” x 45”. If you have a “B” or “B Special”, the carriage is identical and can be moved to this press to have a larger capacity. Please inquire if interested. I would sell this for a very reasonable price.
Pictures shown include presses with the standard gray speckle finish and a couple presses that were ordered with special paint colors, available for a small upcharge. Ink plates pictured are additional.

Asking $995 for the 711 plus shipping, $1,695 for the “A” plus shipping and $2,395 for the “B” Special plus shipping. I can make all shipping arrangements for buyer at discount. (711 can be shipped via UPS and the “A” can be shipped in two boxes via UPS; “B” models and larger require common carrier).
If you already have a showcard that needs repair or reconditioning, please let me know. I can provide reconditioning of just the carriage, or provide bearing replacements as needed. I have also had a few customers send their presses to me for reconditioning at a reasonable price.
I also have Nolan, Vandercook, Challenge and Line-o-Scribe presses as well as a Hohner with adjustable impression.
