Delittle no. 194

Hi folks! I’m in the process of cleaning up this filthy and worn wood type. The grime on the A’s unearthed a Delittle York stamp and on the side of one of the A’s a “No. 194” I assume that was the name of this set for the Delittle company.

Does anyone have a Type ID for me or what someone like Hamilton might have renamed this? I love the G’s so much!

There are a few on-line Delittle type specimen catalogues / and other resources you may find useful. I had seen a collection of digital copies (PDF) on-line but can’t remember where - if I do, I’ll post it here.

I recently had to identify a Delittle face myself, and in the wood type specimens there is a list of numbers and names. It is worth noting that the names do seem awfully arbitrary for some of these styles, as was common back then. 194 is named Atlantic Sans Cond. in that list.

Apologies for the low resolution of that full list, Briarpress’ limits on filesize hits it hard, so here is a crop of the relevant section.
