Letterpress Printing Associate Position Available Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, Silver Spring, MD Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, in Silver Spring Maryland is seeking a Letterpress Associate for part time work. Job responsibilities include organizing, cleaning, and maintaining the letterpress studio, scheduling studio time for rentals and outreach groups, purchasing supplies, assisting workshops, and helping at gallery openings and special events of Pyramid Atlantic. In addition, digital graphic design may be required. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills. Candidate should be familiar with printing and setting type by hand and polymer plate printing. They should be familiar with printing using a Vandercook Proofing Press and a Pilot Press. Basic press maintenance is beneficial. The position is a work exchange position for studio time with access to the Letterpress Studio, Printshop, Dark Room, Screen Printing Studio, Papermill, and Beater Room. Workshops offered at Pyramid are considered an exchange for associate’s work, with letterpress printer paying only materials fee. The position does allow for monetary compensation when assisting with letterpress studio rentals or other grant related programs. The position is ideal for a recent college grad in need of studio space and valuable experience working in a paper, print and book arts center.
