Does anyone know if this is active ? I have a mid-19th Century dry stone wall running though my property and would like to call myself “Old Stonewall Press”, but don’t want to encroach on someone else’s name.
The Stone Wall Press was operated by Kim Merker in Iowa City, Iowa. While I am quite certain he is not currently in operation (at my last communication he was living in a care center), it certainly would be good practice to avoid using the same name to avoid confusion. However, “The Old Stone Wall Press” is another matter, and I would forge ahead with that one, making an honest attempt at aiming for the quality of work that Mr. Merker produced at his press, some of the finest books produced in the mid-late 20th Century.
