Platen and press bed fit together crookedly

I am just getting a small Chicago No 11 press up and running, and after putting type in the chase, it looks like the press bed and platen are not closing flush at all points. As the picture attempts to show, there is about 1/16” of space on the left side between the platen and press bed, and about 1/8” of space on the right side. Should I be worried about this? or will packing the platen help to straighten things out?

Thanks.

Are there screws or bolts you can adjust to level the platen?

No, there isn’t anything. There are only a few axels, I guess you’d call them, which the parts move on. These are hardwired in; there are no screws or anything like that.

So the disparity in distance will be a problem during printing? Ehhhh.
