Looky here!
As you can see, the date on this cornerstone of my school is 1931. I am trying to fine a typeface as close as possible to it - anyone out there with some ideas? Thanks!

I should say - as close to the lettering and numbers as possible!
You will not find anything that is dead-on because this was hand carved. Try Goudy Oldstyle or Palatino or even better - Michaelangelo.

As an afterthought, also try Forum Capitals designed by Goudy based on the carved letters found in the Forum in Rome.
