Any clues about the origins of this press, not to mention literature, would be most appreciated as it draws a complete blank when Googled.

The only relevant search hit I get is here, where an Eagle Hawk treadle platen is listed as auctioned by the Melbourne Museum of Printing in November 2019: http://australianletterpress.info/Museums.HTM
There were two presses called Eagle, one made in America by Dodson and the other in the UK by A. Morfitt of Nottingham.
