10x15 C&P throw off lever and lower throw-off connection

Questions for the community. I just acquired a 10x15 C&P Old Style and it is currently missing both the throw-off lever and the lower throw-off connection (part 72 ½ on the C&P New Style parts list). The press did come with a throw-off lever from an 8x12, however. My questions:

1. Is the throw-off lever for the 8x12 identical to the 10x15? Or if different, is it similar enough to still use on my 10x15?
2. If not, does anyone have a spare 10x15 throw-off lever that they’d be willing to sell?
3. Does anyone have a lower throw-off connection (part 72 ½?) that they’d be willing sell? Or if not, would someone be willing to give me the dimensions of the part with width between the attachment center holes (as I imagine that a workable replacement wouldn’t be too hard to fabricate.)

Thank you in advance for any advice!

Im referencing the parts list for the New Series presses that is hosted on Letterpress Commons.

On my press C&P, a 8x12 New Series, the throw off lever is 35 1/2” long, and the distance from the bolt at the throw off bracket (#79) to the lower throw off connection (#72 1/2) is 9 3/4”

Jacob, Where are you located? There are no doubt many printers on this forum that probably have parts presses that would be glad to find new homes for these press pieces but don’t want to bother with the hassle of shipping. If you live nearby these members you may find what you want quicker. I am in Wisconsin for instance. -Bob P.

Pretty sure i have a new style lever. It’s in my barn in South Jersey. I also have a 10/\x15 C & P Craftsman that is up for grabs. call if interested. 609-501-2023

Thanks all for the thoughts!

You might try Cook Kettle Press on Vancouver Island https://www.cookkettlepress.com/

I took the same measurements that Gerald did, but on a 10x15 New Series. I also have 35 1/2” for the throw off lever, which is quite interesting. The bottom linkage on my press is longer though, at 12 3/4” bolt to bolt. I hope that helps!

Realistically, a throw off lever from either size can be used, and the bottom connecting lever could be fabricated quite easily to the correct length.

Brent—something I didn’t measure is the diameter of the hold that the bold goes through to hold it onto the press. That may be different. But I suppose that makes sense, given you wouldn’t want to make the handle any higher off the floor.

Thank you all for measurements and advice. I think I’ve got what I need to make it work. Much appreciated, everyone.
