Golding Jobber #6

Hi All,

I had a fully functioning 1905 Golding Jobber #6 that we were moving and our moving company has significantly damaged the press. I was wondering if anyone had an estimate as to what the press was worth prior to the damages. I trying to get an idea for insurance purposes. Personally it’s priceless. I can’t seem to find any other press similar for pricing.

I believe I saw one on Facebook Marketplace a few years ago for $3000. It was in working condition, but came with some extras. Really sorry about your damaged press.

Sorry to hear about your press. I have a Golding Jobber #6 who is the workhorse of my studio and she is priceless! Perhaps you can reach out to the Museum of Printing: https://museumofprinting.org/contact-us/ and they can provide guidance on the valuation for insurance.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

I have a friend who has a Golding Jobber #6 (8x12) who, when moving it, had it tip over and break the roller arms. He was able to acquire parts from another printer with a “parts press” and was able to repair it to full function.

If you contact me “off-line” via the Briar Press email feature, I will give you his contact info and you can talk to him and maybe get some insights.
