Type ID
I’m attempting to catalogue a type collection, and would really appreciate any help with any of these typefaces, please.
I’m afraid that any letters missing from those alphabetised, are missing from the collection. I can print a fuller sample of the 2 types not alphabetised.
Sizes are in the file names, all are .918” height except those exceptions listed (I only measured these to the nearest mm and I am assuming the exact measurements based on what I’ve gathered are the closest common Italian and German/French heights).
Not sure if I’ve missed replies to your original post, so apologies for any duplication.
The 36pt Shadow is surely Gill Shadow caps. (and if you happen to have any spare ‘C’s I’d be very happy to purchase even one as it’s missing from my font!).
The 18pt italic is very familiar but my memory fails me at present….
No clues I’m afraid on the others, but I hope someone can help. Your collection seems ‘English’ in origin?
Geoff
The 18pt is very similar to Bembo italic, but more upright and narrow. It is perhaps the alternate italic that was available – Bembo condensed / Fairbank italic
