Noise from Vandy Uni 1

Friends,
I’ve got a squeaking noise coming from my vandercook Universal 1.
I sounds like metal rubbing. I have oiled all the access points that I can find and the chain. I do not want to start taking the motor out.

Friends,
I spoke to Paul Moxon, the Vandercook Guru. It turns out it was gunk accumulated between the left edge of the bed and the rotating ink drum. Each revolution of the drum scraped on the schmutz. Paul called in Vandy Pate’. Cleaning it out did the trick.
