Oddball 18 point needs ID
Hi everyone. I recently picked up this 18 point Garamont-esk italic font but the actual identification is eluding me due to a few quirks on the parentheses and the ampersand.
The metal is dull, not shiny. It’s US type-high with no foot trench and no pin mark. Nice depth of drive. There are no indications the type has been milled at the bottom. The ampersand has a cross stroke that is curiously plain, and the parens are dotted in the middle with a tiny serif. Any help appreciated.
Thanks!

That’s good old Monotype Garamond Bold Italic. The specimen in McGrew shows two different ampersands, but that seems to be the one with the regular capitals (the other is with the swash caps)

Thank you!
I was surprised, too!
