recognizing a potential scam?
I have received several messages re my listing of a press that raise suspicions of a possible scam. How do I check this out further, and if it is a scam who should I report it to?

Its probably a scam. I have received several messages on my shop that is for sale.
They will send a check and have movers come over and pick up equipment. Of course price was never mentioned, no interest in pics of items, etc, etc.
B**********************@Gmail is last one. Not going to provide any more email info just in case it is legit (1 in a gazillion chances of that)
I got this message a few days ago:
Hi! Hope the item is still available for sale? I would like to purchase it as soon as possible. What are the current conditions? Kindly contact me via my email….. [email protected]
This is a scam, and anything like this that is not specific is provably a scam as well.
don’t take checks…. Ever
If they insist on payment at pickup they need to bring cash
If you accept money via an online service, make sure the buyers information matches the payment account.
Make sure you know the terms of sales on those online services, I tend to ask strangers to wait 3-5 days before I ship after payment to make sure they were not using a stolen account.
When in doubt ask them to call you.
