second printing session.

This project is again something I will not use… but am glad I worked thru the process with it.

I bought a victor 6x9 tabletop press out of a barn. It came with a coffee can of mixed type, etc…

I sorted it best I could. The majority is a script face, not sure what size. It is not a complete set. But… I have sun a couple sentences thru the press to see if the press works.

Tonight I decided to take a run at a simple sympathy card. The typeset does not have a lower case p therefore ‘My deepest condolences’ was not possible. In fact needed to capitilize the first letter of each word.

My Heartfelt Condolences.

The lower case o’s are somewhere in between what I would imagine upper case and lower case to be. I will attach the photos.

I will say, doing one line was immensly easier in make ready than the last project that was had corner decorations and text on an A2 greeting card size.

The moveable type actually also can leave a nice impression, at least again with one line of type.

Question’s… (if anyone is willing to give their two cents)
1) are the odd sized o’s something you would see in a script type face?

2) While that lock up was solid… it felt janky somehow. Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Doug

DougieB,

Those are not lower case o characters. Those are zeros.

Michael

Hi Michael,
I laughed out loud at that. This set of type was literally in a coffee can. I sorted the best I could. Apparently there are no lower case p’s and no lower case o’s.

Oh well. Still had fun. I wont be using either of my first two sessions for anything but learning curve/experience. Both were fun sessions.

Thank you so very much for your input!
Doug
