Challenge Paper Cutter 193 series denting

Hi -
I have a challenge 193 paper cutter that is creating dents in the side of the paper when I cut. The paper on the other side of the clamp is shifting as the blade cuts into it (see attached photos for area creating the dents and the dents on the paper).

The blade has recently been changed and it has been oiled. Any other ideas how to make this stop? Thanks in advance.

We had a similar problem on our Challenge 305. We simply moved the lift near the center of the bed, and that eliminated the problem. The other problem you have is those clamp marks; try using a false clamp, and chipboard top and bottom, per Steve’s suggestion.

Thanks so much, these are helpful tips. Much better if the lift is placed near the center of the bed or right side. It’s interesting because I’ve had this cutter for 5 years and haven’t had this problem before.

Does your blade have a knick in it? Is t h e clamp have a knick? Is a bolt (holding the blade in) sticking out the back of blade? Maybe needs a (extra) washer?
