What are these?

I got a miscellaneous box from a fam cleaning out a shop and it had a bunch of these spacer-looking things in it. On the edge they say variations of “10 pt for X em” with X being a number. Pieces with small X are longer than those with larger X. What are they and how do I use them?

Mold Liners for a Linotype.

Ah! Nice. So not useful for me without some hot metal capabilities. Thank you for the info.
